The Annual Parish Council Meeting
a) Previous years Chairman`s report - delivered
b) Treasurer`s Report - delivered
c) Re election of officials – Councillor Graham Penter agreed to stand as Chairman again as no other Councillors put themselves forward. This was proposed by Councillor Peters and seconded by Councillor Tucker.
Councillor Susan Vile agreed to be Vice Chairman again.

Apologies received from Councillor James Limond and Devon County Councillor and Mid Devon District Councillor Steve Keable

no members of the public present.

3/ Minutes of the last meeting
The minutes were agreed as correct

4/Matters arising.
Feed back from the Annual Parish Meeting date 7th May 2026 – very positive from those who attended but numbers very few again. The talks by the railway support group and the Forestry were informative and relevant.
2nd defibrillator for the village
installation has been completed by Councillors Peters and Penter
traffic signs – ready for installation as is the jubilee plaque.
village planters – installed and planted by Councillor Susan Vile
Emergency plan – training for the community Hub project delayed so clerk to rebook this. Carried forward to next month’s meeting

5/Update on the councillors specialist areas

6/ Appointment of a tradesperson to do the PC maintenance jobs

certification for exemption for authorities with an income of less than £25000 – approved by the parish council for 2025/26
ii)Annual governance statement 2025/26 – approved by the parish council with the note that the digital compliance needs to be looked at. *
iii) Accounts Statements 2025/26 – approved by the parish council

*The clerk brought to the PCs attention about its digital policy being in line with the NALC expectations – namely having .gov.uk emails because of potential FOI requests.  It was agreed by councillor Tucker to look into buying a package to set up the emails and a new website as MDDC will no longer be hosting our page from 2027. Follow up at next month’s meeting.
