Oakford Parish Council Agenda: 10th August 2026
Councillors: you are hereby summoned to attend a meeting of Oakford Parish Council to be held in the Committee Room at Oakford Village Hall at 7.30pm on Monday 10th August 2026 for the purpose of transacting the following business
Members of the public and press are invited to attend the meeting.
AGENDA
1. To receive apologies for absence.
2. Declarations of Interest: In accordance with the Code of Conduct, members are required to declare any personal or disclosable pecuniary interests, in items to be considered at this meeting.
3. Public Forum: an opportunity for members of the public to make representations, answer questions and give evidence in respect of any item of business on the agenda, or any matter of interest to the parish. No member of the public will speak for more than 3 minutes. The period of time designated for public participation shall not exceed 15 minutes.
4. To agree the minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on 13th July 2026 as an accurate record of the meeting.
5. Matters arising from the minutes, not covered elsewhere on the agenda.
6. Planning
a) To comment on any planning applications received before the meeting.
26/00943/FULL Conversion of staff office facilities and showroom building to a rural workers dwelling. Location: Unit 2F, Highfield Farm, Oakford.
26/00958/CLU Certificate of lawfulness for the existing use of a barn as a dwelling (Known as The Flat) and associated vehicle parking. Location: Flat, Nethercott Farm, Stoodleigh.
b) To note any planning decisions made by MDDC.
25/01265/Full Erection of two dwellings utilising the Class Q fallback position; conversion and extension of an existing barn to form a dwelling; erection of garages; demolition of redundant agricultural buildings; and creation of new access tracks with associated landscaping. Location: Land and Buildings at NGR 286852 123156 Lower Woodburn Farm, Oakford. Decision: conditional approval.
c) Update on action being taken regarding the dumping of soil and associated works at Oakfordbridge

8. Footpaths
a) Update on work to grade the area of Footpath 5a as agreed by DCC
b) To discuss the suggestion to provide simple fire precaution signage at key access points into our woodlands and public footpaths, particularly during periods of high fire risk.

10. Community Area:
a) Any points to note from the regular inspections of community area.
b) Update on the delivery of the picnic tables and the wording for the plaque
c) Report from site meetings to discuss which fitness equipment would be suitable for the community area so that an application can be made for S106 funding.

11. Finance
a) To approve any invoices or expense claims presented for payment.
b) To note any receipts since the last meeting and the bank balance.
c) Bank reconciliation 31.07.26.
d) To receive a report on budget v actual for 01.04.26 – 31.07.26.
e) Internal Audit Report
12. Arrangements for a screening of The People's Emergency Briefing at Bampton
13. To continue to discuss options for the replacement of the Oakford website before April 2028 when MDDC will no longer provide the service
